- PITCH IN: Picture This! Earth Day 2009
This two-day event helps to clean and green Columbus each year. Volunteer on Saturday (4/18) at various city-wide worksites run by area environmental groups, including FLOW, Metro Parks, FACT, Columbus Recreation and Parks, Sierra Club and many others. Come for the celebration in Goodale Park on Sunday (4/19), which will feature booths for environmental organizations, including a booth from Ohio State, live music, local foods, speakers including Mayor Michael B. Coleman, kids activities and much more.

- TURN IT OFF: Power Down for the Planet
Take the POWER DOWN FOR THE PLANET pledge as part of a national drive to encourage universities and their campus communities to reduce technology power consumption.
Ohio State is striving to reduce energy requirements and one goal is to reduce power used by computer workstations and other office equipment by 30 percent this year.

Use campus recycling bins for recyclable items. For information about campus RECYCLING SERVICES.
- TURN IT OVER
Reduce waste and conserve resources by making double-sided copies and printing only when necessary.
- TURN IT DOWN: Use less
Keep office and academic spaces at 70 degrees during heating season and 76 degrees during cooling season. Dress appropriately.
Walk, bike, carpool and use public transportation
Conserve water when possible.
Use environmentally friendly products, such as green cleaning products, energy efficient appliances and lighting fixtures.
Report any campus energy or water service issues to Service2Facilities.
